Not to Beat A Dead Horse Here, But..

Not even including the dinger he just hit tonight, James Loney in September:- 89 AB- 40 hits- .408 BA- .458 OPB- .745 SLG- 1.198 OPS- 8 HR- 31 RBIBy comparison, no one else on this team (entering tonight) could say they had even one-third those HR or RBI numbers this month.Oh, and who’s second on the team this month in BA, SLG, and OPS, at least amongst players with more than 12 at bats? That’s right. Matt Kemp.Just sayin’.Can we please drop this crap about the young players not picking up the pace now? Please? Loney has been the best player on this team, and it hasn’t even been close. We’re talking 1988 roided-up Ben Johnson running in the Special Olympics.More to come this weekend, and an announcement on Sunday.

[captures forkful of food on plate] I’m so glad you wrote about this Lonely kid, MSTI. Whats his name, Lonely? Loney? Kid at first base? Yeah that’s the one. Marone, he’s the real deal, I can tell you that. [chews food, spills sauce on chin] And you know what? This kid LOVES to play baseball. [wipes chin with napkin, drinks wine] Ya know, these kids remind me of my own group of guys, Garv, Lopes, Billy Russell, the Penguin. And this business about the clubhouse bein’ divided? Just a buncha newspaper gavones with nothin to write about. I tell Frank all the time, “Hey Frank, don’t trade the kids.” [looks around for the waiter] Hey Lou, I need some of those cannoli, I got a real taste for one right now. Anyway, what was I saying? Oh yeah, me and Frank. Listen, you can tell the fans that Frank and Ned love the kids as much as they do, and that 2008 will be the year of Dodger Blue!! We’re done here, right? [cannoli arrives; Tommy dives in]

Tommy, I love it when you leave your pearls of wisdom here.
I’d love it even more if you stayed the hell away from giving the team advice while doing so!
