Sure he's going to be the league's most expensive backup but that's a sunk cost and even if he does get traded, the Dodgers would surely still have to pay some of his salary. He can come in to pinch run, ($9m pinch runner!), he can start some games and bat 8th, he can rotate around when there are injuries, etc. Since he brings pretty much nothing in a trade, may as well keep him, he's a hustler and he works harder then anyone, etc. One other comment, I don’t think Pierre needs to be traded at all.
