Vin was angry...go 'way. That was subdued compared to some of his rants on the BBWC. Geez, listen to me, I have been advocating lynching Colletti, maybe I need some anger management.

It's frustrating to see all this $ tied up in Pierre and Jones when you have Ethier. Andre is at the age when the Dodgers should have him in the lineup when it's appropriate...I'd say 90% of the time. Pierre-Kemp-Ethier is the best outfield now.

I've been willing to give Ned Coletti a shot. I don't think he's the answer. There is a good young team in this organization. They're not getting enough time in the lineup. The GM position requires an understanding of basic chemistry/alchemy. Ned doesn't have it.
When is there going to be a discussion of the shortcomings of the pitching/pitching coach?

Neither does Jeff Kent. Hasn't ever. I am less worried about LaRoche ranging into the hole to steal a basehit, than I am putting a kid at second who failed there miserably some two years ago in the minors.

LaRoche hasn't ever played second, but I like to think that he is more flexible than DeWitt. LaRoche has been bounced around the infield and outfield since the Dodgers signed him and if playing second base would guarantee him a spot in the future, I would believe he would jump at it.

Yeah, if DeWitt does come back to earth, then run LaRoche out to third and all we have done is add to LaRoche's value with his ability to play second in a pinch. Of course, if DeWitt proves to be the real deal, then we have found a way to get two more very good bats in the lineup. Don't see a downside to letting LaRoche take balls at second. If he tanks, then we have to move to plan B. At least, he won't be tanking in LA. Sending DeWitt back to Las Vegas to take ground balls at second seems counterproductive, IMO.

I don't think LaRoche has the range to play second. He's 6'1", 208 lbs. DeWitt has experience playing 2nd in the minors-- it didn't go very well. But he should have better range, and fits the profile a little better at 5'11", 175 lbs. Still, it is a way to get both of them in the lineup, eventually anyway. But as Baseball Prospectus wrote a few days ago, DeWitt's 90th percentile projection is LaRoche's 25% projection-- LaRoche needs to get a shot at the bigs.

Vin, God bless you. Why is it that those of us who just watch the game know more than the fools, cretins or morons who actually make the decisions that make or break our team. I swear, I wish I had been on the ground floor of Apple, when Steve Jobs started offering shares. By now, I would have enough money to buy out the Brand and put you in as GM. I will let you fire Ned.
