Yes, we are going to pay for not letting Russell "rest". This is the short-sightedness of Ned Colletti biting us on the ass. We have zero depth and it shows when we have to play stiffs like Maza, Bennett and Sweeney, when each doesn't have any right playing in the show.

When I think of the depth this team could have if Colletti would get over his veteran fascination, it just makes me sad and angry. Terry Tiffee is a better bat off of the bench than Sweeney, plus he can actually play more than one position. Plus, Delwyn Young should be getting at bats during the interleague play, but instead at bats go to Pierre and Jones, that is quite disturbing. Danny Ardoin is a very good defensive backstop and actually can hit, but he is wasting his time in Las Vegas when a guy like Bennett, who can't even hold Ardoin's jock, is playing in the show. I don't even know what to make of Maza. He has zero arm and I can see why he spent twelve years in the minors.

Oh well, it is late and this rant is getting long. I know that I am one of the leading firebrands for getting rid of Colletti, but what has he done for the Blue? Stuck us with some really ugly contracts, made some bad trades and still hasn't addressed either Furcal or Martin and their extensions. At some point, the Brand has to take the media hit and get rid of Colletti, especially before some other team steals Logan White or Kim Ng.

Yep, HatGuy picture was me.

I agree about Bennett, his heroics on Thursday aside. This is what I really dislike about having Martin play 3B on his "days off" - the fact that it forces Bennett into the lineup. We REALLY need a legitimate 3B backup to DeWitt, whether it's LaRoche or Nomar.

BTW, Gary Bennett needs to be a former professional baseball player. I think I can find several million Dodger fans who agree with me.
