While there’s no such thing as a true must-win unless they go home after, I agree it was the next thing to it for the Cubbies.
Sloppy ending today but really, who cares? Bad D by the cubs, bad 9th for LA – but they would have won pretty handily even without those breaks and it looks good.

On a side note, I think this game is a must-win for both teams. As much as I like Kuroda, I hate the matchup of him and Harden.

I was at that June 7th game (my b-day) we absolutely destroyed Zambrano… I remember being apprehensive going to the game, having read the pitching matchups I was thinking “uh-oh” and “please don’t get shut out on my birthday” three hours and one very big celebration later I left thinking. “That was the supposed Ace of the supposed best team in the NL?”
