		<description><![CDATA[Thanks for having the guts (masochism?) to read Plass-hat&#039;s carp, and then summarizing the inaneness, so that I have an idea of how well he continues to be a gas-bag without having to read anything he scribbles.  I saw the interesting headling at LAT.com, but skipped going to the article when I saw the byline.  I especially like his revisionist history of where he stood in the past.]]></description>

Beltre would be playing during a contract year back in LA, and we all remember what happened the last time that was the case. Also should we want to go in another direction once he is a free agent, Dewitt or Martin or some other could take third while we get draft picks from Beltre leaving. If we want to keep him, the expiring contracts of Schmidt and Jones make that very possible. Regardless of all the criticism, Beltre is one of the best defensive third basemen if not the best, and is the best available offensive one as well.]]></description>
