After reading Hot Lips’ remarks, all I can say is that the Nuclear Winter is upon us and we can look forward to a $75 million that has 2/3′s of it lost in the sunk cost of Slap, .158 and the Invisible Man. Oh goody, we will be the Pirates, next year…kudos Frank & Jamie, kudos!

Raffy has been hurt…granted. Still got some time out of him…more than Jason Schmidt. 2007 was Repko’s fault. Given that Raffy had back surgery and still put up good numbers, I’d say 2008 wasn’t a complete bust.

Unfortunately, all this is in Ned’ and Frank’s less than capable hands.

Too true, Kensai. But, I still doubt that Beane would drop a four year deal on Furcal and his back for $12 million per. It just doesn’t strike me as a Beane type move.

That being said, I would rather see Izzy and his Slap-like offense at short than paying for three or four years of Orlando Cabrera.

Of course, if all things were equal, I would prefer to see Raffy at shortstop in ’09.

You know what the worst part about that Renteria thing is? The Dodgers are probably going to settle for Orlando Cabrera, and he’ll probably cost the same. :o
