I would like to see what it would take to get Jed Lowrie out of Boston. They know have SS Marco Scutaro and 2B Dustin Pedroia locked up for a few years, plus are locked at 1B/3B with some kind of combination of a Mike Lowell/Kevin Youklis/Victor Martinez/Casey Kotchman.

Francona on MLBNetwork indicated that they signed Scutaro because they couldn't take the chance on counting on Lowrie to start a SS over a full season with his recent health issues. He would though for us make for a good middle infield combo with Furcal (SS) and DeWitt (2B). He and DeWitt also have the ability to play a solid 3B if needed. Add to him being a switch hitter and he would make the perfect addition to the team.

I actually think Chin-Lung Hu CAN'T hit .251. I think the reason you go out and get one, maybe two of these guys for a minor-league contract, or even at 600-800K, is so you have options in the infield. Remember, Furcal was gone all year two years ago, and Nomaaa and Andy LaRoche went down the same DAY in Spring Training. Would I prefer we went after some good infielders? Yes. Will we? No. Does speaking in questions make me sound like Jim Tracy? Don't answer that.

Amezaga, Green, who's next? Are we in on Khalil Greene? Aaron Miles? What other crappy middle infield types will we dumpster dive on? I know it is mostly bs, but with Ned now having to answer to another level of moron, one has to wonder when it will be announced that we resigned Angel Berroa because he is willing to be paid in food stamps.

Yeah, I read Ned's statements about the payroll, but I doubt that he is totally truthful as his boss(es) have never met a lie they couldn't tell.

Due Diligence when you aren't in the know has a tendency to make your head explode. I'll be truthful..I love the baseball offseason more than the offseason of any sport, and I love rumors, but I wonder if maybe columnists and reporters shouldn't report every single rumor you hear... unles they think the majority of the sports viewing population loves to be disappointed.
