Can’t type… should have sent… a poet…

Yahoo’s Tim Brown:

White Sox acquire Juan Pierre for two minor league pitchers. Dodgers pick up about half of remaining salary.

You better believe we’ll have much more on this today, but I need to pick myself off the floor and collect myself. 

Juan Pierre: TRADED!

  1. Hey we finally did something!! Overall this is very good news. Pierre seemed like a good guy and i;m happy he is in a place he can play. even more i’m happy he is off our team!! Now the 4th spot can be filled by an up coming outfielder. It will be interesting to see how long it takes the white sox and the media that has been in love with him since June to realize what we already know, he isn’t as good as you think!!! Oh well, good stuff!!

  2. MLBR now says we’re paying all but 3 Mil of Slappy’s contract in ’10 and all but 5 mill in ’11 and only getting 2 PTBNL. Not that I’m sad to see Pierre go… but the PTBNL’s better be good if we’re still going to be paying most of his salary (albeit to watch him pop out to second 4 times in a game for some OTHER team). If the PTBNL’s are decent and able to contribute next year (as in fill a back of the rotation slot) then fine, pay Juan to play for someone else, but if the PTBNL’s turn out to be 4A fodder than we may have given away our best trade chip for basically nothing (and are still paying for him)… Still, no more Slappy!!!
