The eye test on Loney at the end of the year showed SOMETHING was different. It wasn’t just balls dropping in for hits, everything was getting driven hard and solid and many pretty darn far.
Hopefully both him and Billz are solid this year and truly do “breakout” into their talent, upside, potential or whatever you want to call it!

But yeah if you break down any player by certain dates, you’ll find hot and cold streaks for sure.
I think Dave P. was right above, it could be that Loney really has made a change, but we can’t know that now, only time will tell and also any player can get hot for a month or two and that doesn’t mean they’ve suddenly figured it out. There is some evidence that when he pulls the ball he is more successful (september 07, and August-September 2011), so if he keeps that approach it COULD be a change that turns him into a more effective player. We’ll see.

Uribe career .721 OPS. Rivera career .776 OPS, Jerry Sands .727 OPS last year, AJ Ellis .769 OPS last year (though small sample).
Not that north of .700 is any amazing barrier to break!
